A joyful reading future for every child

Reading Futures came to me with a proposal to develop a brand logo and characters for it’s launch to elementary schools. They provide small group reading intervention to children with reading difficulties. Their highly-trained educators deliver the scientifically proven program with joyful, supportive teaching to ensure a bright reading future for every child.

Team: Creative director (me, art direction and illustrator sourcing), designer, and illustrator

The Logo

The logo celebrates the joyful adventures reading can bring — and the perseverance dyslexic students must overcome when learning to read.

Say hello to Tam, Kate, and Roy!

Here’s Tam, she’s the youngest. She can usually be found with her stuffed animal, Sam. He’s a ram.

Meet Kate, she’s responsible for the long vowels A, E, I, O, U, and their sounds. She’s a total boss!

This is Roy. He can reads words with complex vowel combos. He likes to go out on his boat.

Achievement Badges

“Kristin is an extremely talented creative leader who is unparalleled in her ability to collaborate across teams to deliver stunning results. She is also one of the best managers I have ever known, leading her teams with vision, kindness, and high standards.

I had the great pleasure of working with Kristin at Common Sense Media, and for this reason she was the first person I called when I was looking to develop a brand identity for my new venture, Reading Futures. Kristin helped bring to life the joy of becoming a reader that we want all students to experience.”
