Celebrating awardees at the annual Common Sense Awards

Every year Common Sense honors inspiring innovators, advocates, and creators who use media and technology to build a world that works better for kids.

These inspiring benefit events support the nonprofit to ensure kids' digital well-being in today's increasingly tech-driven world.

The 2016 event was held in New York city. The sold out event honored Bill Nye with the Educational Creator award and Nza-Ari Khepra with the Social Change Catalyst award.

The 2018 celebration honored Marvel Studios' Black Panther with the Great Family Media award, Khan Academy founder Sal Khan with the Educator of the Year award, and the March for Our Lives movement was recognized with the Advocacy award. Black Panther writer and director Ryan Coogler, Sal Khan, and activist Cameron Kasky received the awards at San Francisco's City Hall. The MC and special guest was Will Farrell.
